About Us
Ed and Sue James started Sugar Loaf Wool Carding Mill April 21, 2000. Also local ranchers and business entrepreneurs, Ed and Sue wanted to provide an outlet for wool grown by local producers. They take the raw wool and process it in their facility, turning it into wool batts and rovings, pillows, mattress covers, and comforters. All of the finished products are hand sewn.
Visitors are welcome to view the wool carding process. School children, quilt guilds, retired teachers, spinning and weaving guilds, and many tourists have enjoyed learning how wool is processed and why wool is a wonerful fiber. Please call to schedule school and group visits to our mill. Tours can be scheduled via phone at: 406 498 0417 or 406 490 2279 or email.
Open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Weekends by appointment.
